A woman in Haiti walks into the Nadege safe house for the first time. Her eyes peer toward the ground. She feels lost and forgotten. Years of abuse have taught her that she is worth nothing. Love eludes her. Hopelessness abounds. She enters the doors of Nadege because she is referred by another organization. Her hope was to receive a free meal and a safe place to sleep.
Days pass and she begins to see a different way of living. Weeks pass and she is able to look the other woman in the eyes. Months pass and she begins to see herself in a different way. A year goes by and she looks in the mirror. Gone are the days of unworthiness and hopelessness. Today, she sees a strong and capable woman staring back at her. A women who is no longer forgotten but embraced by her Nadege family and a God who has restored her HOPE. The ashes of her past have been restored into something beautiful...
Her story is the heart behind our third annual Restored gala. Broken things being restored.
Twenty-five Hope Restorers will again embark on a journey to restore an item the world would deem as junk and raise $1,000 in the process. The money raised will be matched by a generous donor, and their restored items will be auctioned off at the Restored Gala.
Save the date for September 28, 2019 | 7:00pm - 9:30pm | The Hobson to catch a glimpse of the restored items and bid on your favorite item(s). The evening will include a silent auction, delicious appetizers and stories of lives that will soon be restored in Haiti.
